Eurac Research is a private research center founded in 1992 in Bolzano/Bozen (South Tyrol). Its research addresses the greatest challenges facing humanity: health, energy, well-functioning political and social systems and an intact environment. Its activities include national and international research projects, as well as direct cooperation with industry partners. industry-related projects normally involve the development of new products and the evaluation of technological solutions. the institute also supports the promotion of renewable energy technologies and assists political decision-makers with scientific consultancy. The institute's research involves the extensive use of dynamic simulations and multiphysics modelling of advanced energy systems and buildings.
Our MeZeroe vision
As an applied research center, EURAC’s overall aim with the MEZeroE project is to create a long-term sustainable collaboration between industry (material producers, façade manufacturers, practitioners, contractors, and also end-users) and the research community to develop innovative façade systems that enable healthy and highly comfortable indoor environments while ensuring the structural reliability of the façades, the possibility of integrating active systems such as PV, and the minimization of the energy consumption.
