05. ZAG

The Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) was established in 1949 and transformed in 1991. Since its beginning ZAG has been the central research and development as well as testing and certification institution in Slovenia. This role continues and ZAG provides research, both fundamental and industrial, testing, certification and the verification of construction products as well as services in the field of environmental assessment of different products.  

Research and services are organized into the Department of Materials, the Department of Building Physics, the Department of Structures, the Department of Geotechnics and Infrastructure. ZAG also includes the Department of Metrology as well as Certification and Technical Assessment services. ZAG has a long history of research in the European programs from FP4 to H2020 and has participated in and coordinated numerous projects in the field of energy efficiency and building products as well as in the area of circular economy.
